This is not the first time Trump has taken a dig at Biden when it comes to sports.

Earlier in the month, Trump suggested that he could knock Joe Biden out in seconds if the two were ever to meet inside a boxing ring.

Trump, who at 75 is just three years younger than Biden, was asked who he would pick to box out of anyone in the world.

‘If I had to box anybody in the world, and I’ll take a pass on the professional boxers because that can be a very dangerous subject, but if I had to box somebody probably my easiest fight would be Joe Biden.

‘He’d go down very, very quickly. He once said “oh I’d like to take him behind the bar” and he’d be in big trouble if he did. I think Biden would go down within the first few seconds,’ he said.

The potshots at Biden come as Trump over took Biden in approval ratings for the first time this week since his loss at the 2020 presidential elections, according to a new Harvard/Harris poll.

While Biden enjoyed his highest approval rating of 57 per cent in May, support for the president dropped dramatically to 46 percent as of September following the nation’s chaotic exit from Afghanistan, crisis at the southern border with Mexico, and deadlock in Congress over his infrastructure bills.

Meanwhile, Trump’s approval ratings, which have  remained at about 46 per cent since 2020, surpassed Biden after rising to 48 per cent in September.

‘The mounting issues on all fronts have led to the surprise conclusion that Trump is now seen as being as good a president as Biden, suggesting the honeymoon is being replaced with buyer’s remorse,’ Mark Penn, co-director of the Harvard/Harris survey told The Times
