The Pokemon Company has officially ceased operations of its Pokemon TV app, effectively ending a convenient streaming avenue for fans, especially on the Nintendo Switch. Originally launched on Pokemon’s official website, the Pokemon TV app later expanded to mobile platforms and became available on the Switch eShop. This app provided enthusiasts with free access to a vast library of episodes spanning the entire history of the Pokemon series, including the earliest installments known as “The Beginning.” Its integration onto the Switch in 2021 further extended its reach, offering fans on Nintendo’s handheld console a convenient way to enjoy the anime. Nevertheless, TV has now reached its conclusion as The Pokemon Company discontinues the service.
The decision to shut down TV was announced earlier this year, with the app subsequently removed from digital storefronts.
